This allows you to better serve your customers in daily communication as well as problem solving without having to depend entirely on a third party provider who is totally outside of your organization. Items can be tracked from the point of origin to the point of delivery with time stamps and proof of delivery signatures along the way. This ability allows you to see and manage the transportation side of your business, thereby, truly becoming a partner with your customers through the DirectLink interface.

Scanning process

Advance Shipment Notification (ASN) information supplied by the shipper is imported into DirectLink's system. This information is then passed to Palm based barcode scanners that are used to facilitate the receiving, loading, and delivery process. Shipment status information is transmitted back to the shipper via an internet web interface.

This process allows for greater control of the entire distribution process. Electronic scanners provide immediate OS&D information. A higher level of accuracy and productivity is realized as well as providing electronically transmitted Proof of Delivery (POD) information including signature capture.
